Learn how to safely strengthen your body during pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. This whole-body, bootcamp-style program will focus on optimizing the muscles of the inner core (diaphragm, transverse abdominals and pelvic floor) while mastering muscle activation in basic movement patterns such as squats, lunges, bending, twisting, pulling and pushing.  These types of movements are executed every single day, whether picking up a child, getting out of bed, opening a car door, and mopping the floor. 

Learn how to optimally use your core through conscious breathing techniques that you can incorporate into your daily life. This will strengthen the foundational muscles that provide posture, stability, balance and deep, holistic strength. Say goodbye to chronic conditions such as lower back pain, sacro-iliac joint dysfunction, urinary/bowel incontinence, pelvic pain, and sciatica. This is also a great class for those who would like to prevent, or work to improve, symptoms of diastasis recti. 

We will begin our class with breath and core activation.  After your core is activated and engaged, we will move on to more detailed strength circuits utilizing hand weights, bands, and barre balls that will target your glutes, core, shoulder girdle, and chest. We will top off class with a gentle cardio circuit to build endurance and end with a restorative, grounding meditation. 

Be prepared to breathe, work, sweat and leave feeling energized, strong, and relaxed! Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable workout clothing. Grippy socks are optional as barefoot is preferred.

Meet Your Instructor:

My name is Krista and I am the founder of One Strong Mother, Prenatal and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Training. I am a Fit for Birth Prenatal and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, Diastasis Core Consultant and Holistic Fertility & Pregnancy Safe Coach. Additionally, I am a student midwife, Reiki Master, paramedic and avid advocate for the health and well-being of pregnant and postpartum women and their babies! The goal of One Strong Mother is to offer women a real solution for common, but fixable, problems experienced during pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. This includes complaints such as diastasis recti, lower back pain, urinary incontinence, neck pain, shoulder pain, pelvic/hip girdle pain and sciatic pain.

Unfortunately, women tend to live in discomfort thinking that it is their “new normal.” Some may even find that the activities that once brought them joy, such as taking their favorite yoga, CrossFit or spin class may exacerbate painful conditions. This does not have to be the case! I truly enjoy assisting women in improving their daily life through thoughtful and intentional exercises with a strong focus on the inner core unit. I can show you how to exercise safely and effectively amidst the many changes your body is undergoing. You can feel safe knowing that you are in trusting, loving hands. A joyous life free of pain and discomfort is my goal for every woman! I want all women to know that it is possible to feel great in your body. It is possible to be strong and sexy during and after pregnancy. It is possible to have a fully functional body that allows you to do all the things you love! Even though you are a mother, or mother-to-be, you are still very much an individual deserving to feel comfortable and confident in your body and in your abilities. You are a priority and so is your health and well-being. I would be honored to guide you along this path to rediscovering your strength and power!
